Coming back to tickets #311 and #449:

Your solution was to use CSS to force a vertical legend. However this does not work well for me, as i want to get rid of the layer icon with :

.gx-tree-layer-icon {
    display: none;

The layer icon does not make sense in combinaison with a beautiful legend of UMN-Maperserver ;-) Please See attached image.

If i add

#legend img {
  display: block;

The layer icon apears again. Is there a way to avoid this? As for as i can see it, no, but i am not very good with CSS.

As far is i can see it, we need either another element (independent) of the icon that alows for the wrap, or the vertical alignment should be enforced via JS.

In any case, my opinion is that horizontal alignment makes ver seldom sense for a legend, so the vertical alignment should be default in any case.
